This morning I was on my way home from the pharmacy and stewing about the cost of all the meds I take. I was already feeling blue because our little kitten died after only being alive 24 hours or so. I love animals and hate losing one for any reason. I've been wanting a black and white kitten and when this kitten was born she was perfect. I'd already named her Patches. Her mother, Tipsy, is very young at 10 months old and I imagine the kitten may have been a bit premature and just didn't have the strength to survive. Maybe another time we'll be more fortunate.
What really brightened my day and made me smile was passing a little family walking down the sidewalk with their fishing poles. A dad, a little girl of about 4 and a little boy who may have been 2. I thought, these are the times that children cherish. They may not realize it now, but they are so very fortunate to have a Dad who will share experiences with them. So. whoever you are, thanks for unlifting my spirits. I'm thinking I may have to take my camera down to the city pier and see if they're having any luck.
